“We can’t control the wind but we can adjust the sails.”

At Cooley Psychological Wellbeing, we provide psychological consultation, assessments and therapy for individuals of all ages, as well as couples and families. We offer our services in-person at one of our beautifully designed therapy rooms, online, and in the great outdoors.

Why choose us for your therapy?

We understand that mental health difficulties or problems in relationships can affect us all. We believe that everyone can benefit from therapy, no matter who they are or what they are facing. But we know that making the first step to reach out for help can feel daunting and that choosing the ‘right’ therapist can feel overwhelming. You can be confident that our practitioners will meet your courage to engage in therapy with the compassion and respect you deserve.

Perhaps you don’t know exactly what’s wrong, or where your difficulties started? Or maybe your experience of difficult life events has changed the way you connect with yourself and others around you? During your initial assessment appointment, your therapist will provide a safe space for you to share your story, without judgment. Their collaborative approach means you will work together to find a shared understanding and identify the most helpful type of therapy for you.

Our therapists work beyond symptom reduction, to explore the root of your difficulties. Engaging honestly and openly with therapy can feel hard and it requires commitment to look at things that might feel painful. But clients reflect time and time again that these efforts can enable you to disentangle yourself from emotional, behavioural and relational patterns and bring about life changing results. Compassion is at the heart of all our work and our therapists will provide a safe place for you to connect, without judgement, and with the confidence that your efforts in therapy will be rewarded with positive change and a renewed connection with yourself, others and the world.

Services and fees

Clients are welcome to self-fund their appointments. We are also a recognised healthcare provider for major insurance companies, including AXA, Aviva and Vitality Health. If your insurance provider is not listed here, please get in touch and we may be able to arrange registration.

Our fees vary according to the professional who is most suited to supporting your needs. Please complete our self-referral form and one of our team will aim to be in touch within 48 hours to advise on which professional we would recommend and their associated fees.

Initial Psychological Assessment (typically £100 to £150)

Initial assessments are typically scheduled for either 50 or 90 minutes. This ensures enough time to establish a shared understanding of your difficulties, intended goals for your therapy, and a plan for therapy that is tailored to your needs.

Therapy (typically £100 per appointment)

We find that committing to weekly or fortnightly sessions supports good therapeutic outcomes. Therapy sessions are 50 minutes in length. Depending on your goals, at the start of your therapy you may wish to agree on a fixed number of sessions or enter into a more open ended agreement.

Letters and Reports

We can provide letters confirming your appointments at no extra charge. A full report pertaining to your psychological assessment and / or therapy can be provided for an additional fee.
